Agentic Harness Field Notes · Deyaf
Field note 001 · Enterprise intelligence

A model is not a system.

An Agentic Harness is.

Companies keep buying intelligence and getting demos. The architecture that turns a capable model into something a business can actually run has a name: the Agentic Harness. Deyaf is built from Eve, the assistant already answering at Feniex.

The premise

The model is the engine. The harness is everything that makes the engine useful, governable, and safe.

01 The category

Intelligence was never the missing piece. Structure was.

An enterprise does not need another isolated answer. It needs one governed system that understands how the company works—and knows where its authority ends.

A model arrives without your company's memory. It does not know which system owns the truth, who may see a record, what a workflow costs, or which decisions require a person. Every business has these rules. Most AI deployments leave them scattered across prompts, policies, and people's heads.

An Agentic Harness is everything around the AI model: what the assistant knows, what it remembers, where it meets customers, what it may do, and how your team teaches it. It brings those rules into one architecture. It handles identity before retrieval, provenance before trust, permission before work, and approval before action. The intelligence can change underneath. The company's operating logic remains intact.

02 The anatomy

One core. One memory. One gate.

The harness reaches across the business without flattening it. Every connection has an owner. Every record keeps its source. Every consequential action faces a human decision.

A harness can be designed so owners, employees, customers, dealers, and vendors approach the same governed intelligence, each with the right view for who they are.

01

Answers

Whoever asks, using the same memory and attaching the source.

02

Observes

Only the doors and sources it has been given, with permission. It changes nothing.

03

Recommends

Proposes a next step with the evidence beside it, for a person to weigh.

04

Prepares

Drafts the work for review. Drafting is not sending.

05

Acts

Writes back only when the approval policy has been satisfied.

DEYAF.

Deyaf is built from Eve, the assistant already answering at Feniex.

It is the harness that runs Eve at Feniex, packaged so another business can have an assistant of its own. Deyaf helps a business give its knowledge, rules, and tools to an AI assistant, then control where that assistant can help and what it may do.

Reads wide.
Writes narrow.

Seeing is how the harness becomes useful. Changing is where software can hurt a business. Deyaf turns autonomy into a visible ceiling that every workflow must respect.

Eve at Feniex. Already answering.

Everything above is architecture. Eve is the working proof. Eve runs on the Agentic Harness Deyaf packages: her knowledge, memory, doors, rules and learning loop.

Not one big model. A system around one.Illustration

Eve is Feniex's assistant: a warm, composed customer desk that helps people choose suitable equipment, make a buying decision, or get support for equipment they already own. She is software with a named personality, not a person. She answers first, offers one useful next step, then stops.

What makes her work is not the model alone. The model is one step of four: listen, look it up, check the rules, reply. Before any exact product, compatibility, warranty, price or software claim, she checks the applicable record, and she describes only the action the result proves. Saving is not delivery. Drafting is not sending.

When she can't answer, a person answers once, and the answer is checked before it is taught. She is measured on a frozen test set, only approved lessons are published, then she is measured again: a supervised loop, not training on every raw conversation.

“A convincing product name is not evidence.”Eve's evidence rule

Who she is

RoleFeniex's public face for choosing, buying and support. Not human: no age, no body.
KnowsAn exact reference layer of versioned catalog, manual, software, fitment and policy records, plus a taught library of reviewed lessons.

What she may do

ActionsFour public actions: look something up, search the taught library, take a message, record an unanswered question.
UnknownsA durable unanswered item and, with contact details, a ticket. No transfers, by design: she takes a name and number for the team.
MemoryFour layers: this conversation, one operator-readable record, short customer notes, her library. Orders and balances are looked up fresh.

06 The two doors

A box on the page. A voice on the line.

A harness meets customers at its doors. The two they see most are the website chat box and the phone. Behind both: the same identity, the same library, the same rules as at text, email and website voice.

The chat box is the smallest door and the most visible one. The answer streams in as it is written, the page and product the visitor is looking at ride along, and a product or resource can arrive as a tile instead of a paragraph. Eve remembers this conversation only. She answers first, usually in two or three sentences, asks for one missing detail at a time, and never pretends to be a person. One assistant, every way in.

The phone is Feniex's overflow and after-hours line. The team's phones ring first; when no one is free or the office is closed, Eve answers instead of voicemail. She is never silent for long: “One moment” after about 1.5 seconds, “Let me check on that” as a lookup starts, “Still checking” about every four seconds. Callers in Spanish, French or Portuguese hear that language's own voice.

Routing runs one way. In, a call overflows from the team to Eve. Out, there are no transfers, by design: she answers from her library or takes the caller's name and number and hands the matter to the team. Every call is transcribed, a recorded fallback plays if she is down, and no call runs past ten minutes. Eve on the phone.

09 Questions

Is an Agentic Harness another AI model?
No. The model supplies intelligence. The harness supplies the governed memory, identity, permissions, workflow, approval rules, cost visibility, and audit trail that let an enterprise use that intelligence safely.
Is it the same thing as an AI agent?
An agent is one worker inside the system. The harness is the governed environment that determines what every agent may see, remember, prepare, and do.
Does Deyaf replace our existing software?
No. Deyaf helps a business give its knowledge, rules, and tools to an AI assistant, then control where that assistant can help and what it may do. Live doors and tools switch on one at a time, deliberately.
Where can I learn more?
Start with how an Agentic Harness works on deyaf.com, then meet Eve, Feniex's assistant and the working system Deyaf is built from. Her report card, weak spots included, sits on the same page.
